Guess who's back?!
|
|
The dreaded exams are finally over. Phew!
Now it's time to get back to what I love doing and that is... SLEEPING.
and taking photographs.
And talking about taking photographs, my cousin got engaged on the final day of Syawal, 10th Nov '07 and what better way to practise and improve my photographic skills than to make her my unpaid model on her big day.
It was seriously a mentally-draining process as it was not easy to think of new and creative ways to capture the moments on your feet; and that didn't include the basic rules of photography that you needed to keep in mind while shooting. But all in all, the best way is to go with the flow and not to think too much when shooting. In the end, it certainly feels worthwhile when everyone is satisfied with your work and it is definitely great to make people happy.
So to those out there reading this, if you need my service in taking your pictures in whatever events, do feel free to shout my name yah. Your friendly neighbourhood cameraman is back in town. Wahahahaha!!!
To Zakir and Zee, congratulations on your engagement yah!
I'll try to upload your engagement pix a.s.a.p.

Fighting Da Devil
|
|
Well, exams are just around the corner...
As I continue my uphill battle with the the 'M' virus,
I leave you with the super-duper, 'pipi tembam cannot resist to pinch', 'mata besar', Afiq and his bout with the Tasmanian Devil...
Guess who won?

I love kids!
|
|
One of the biggest joy from photography is to immortalise the emotion that defines the moment.
It's always bring out a sense of felicity to capture the myriad of antics displayed by these adorable kids and they never fail to bring a smile from me behind the camera.
Maybe it's because of their innocence that makes their every move effusive.
This year's Raya has presented a wealth of opportunity to capture these lovable kids in their element. And here I am sharing my pleasure with all of you.

This year's Raya is better that the last because:
1)have a new love Miss Diforti (still in the process of getting to know her better)
2)lose around 3 kilos from my fat body (but gained back everything in one day )
3)food (don't need to say more)
4)get to photograph many adorable kids (haven't have the opportunities to photograph that many beautiful ladies yet )
5)Miss Diforti (again...can't get enough of her lah)
Format copied from the lovely Miss Moon @ http://muneeramohdyusof.fotopages.com/ and http://www.pelangibonda.com/. Visit2 lah if free.
More pictures will be uploaded soon in this post. Too many to put up lah. Aiyoyo!

Eid Greeting '07
|
|
11th Oct '07
The small ketupat was weaved by my lovely Mom just now.
The big one was weaved by yours truly just now.
Picture was taken by a new addition to my family Miss Diforti.
Love her to bits but still in the process of getting to know her better.
But my Mr Canon is still in my heart.
Enough of this nonsensical rambling.
To all my Muslim fp friends, Eid Mubarak to all of you.
May you get to spend the joyous day with your beloved family.
And to those overseas, don't worry be happy.
Reminds me of my two Ramadhans and one Hari Raya in Brunei doing my national service.
But I think you guys and gals have it tougher.
Hopefully the next Raya will be spent with your families instead.
Insya-Allah.
I would like to extend my apologies for any misgivings and shortcomings from my part since being involved in this fp and getting to know you guys and gals through your lovely pictures.
May Allah strengthen our ukhuwah further.
As a final request, I hope that those of you reading this will upload pictures of how you are celebrating your first day of Raya in your respective fps.
I will be glad to have a look at them cause each one will be different from the rest and I'll have the opportunity to learn more.
Thank you!
Selamat Hari Raya!

A short entry without any photo.
Just finished watching the 'live' telecast of the Merdeka Celebration on RTM1.
To my fellow Malaysian friends that I've made through this fotopage, I would like to wish "Selamat Menyambut Hari Merdeka yg ke 50!"
May our friendships continue to blossom like the beautiful hibiscus and orchid flowers!
Hooray!!!

Singapore Fireworks Celebrations 2007
|
|
Woohoohoo!
My first time chasing fireworks!
And it was terrific!!!
I use the present continuous tense "chasing", due to the fact that the fireworks were quite close to
the enthralled spectators and the area of explosion was quite huge.
As my p&s Mr Canon has the disability of not being able to change his fixed lens to a wide-angle one, I had to turn left and right to anticipate the next firework that was to be released.
Due to this trans movement, every rule of photography was thrown into the Marina Bay.
No composition, no rule-of-third, no nothing.
Just press the shutter as fast as possible.
One thing to share, I found out that some of the best shots has a shutter speed of 5-6secs with the aperture set to the max.
Maybe you guys have a better setting and wanna share, as sharing is caring, as the saying goes.
So sit back and pretend to be awed at some of my feeble attempts in firework 'chasing'.
Crowd waiting patiently...
Myriad of pyrotechnics and fireworks...
Climax... See the bellows of smoke...

Singapore Skyline
|
|
Went to One Fullerton near the Merlion Park to soak in the nationalistic atmosphere though couldn't get any tickets to see the proper parade that was held on the first floating platform in the world.
Made one of the cardinal photography mistakes, which was in forgetting to bring extra batteries and had to skimp any photo-taking which is really sad.
Made another mistake, by not recceing the place first and not coming early, thus the best place to shoot was taken up by the early-birds. Bummer!
Made one last mistake, by not bringing extra food and drinks, resulting in an empty stomach for a duration of 6++hrs.
Oh well! What a day to celebrate Singapore's independence. But I would like to keep the positives that I've learned and to try not repeating the mistakes again. Hopefully I can do better with the upcoming Singapore Fireworks Celebrations on the 17th and 18th August.
So anybody wanna join?
I leave you with two photographs of the beautiful skyline of Singapore.
Taken by my buddy, a talented aspiring photographer, who accompanied me to the festivities. Thanks many2!
Taken by yours truly.
Due to the limited size of the grandstand facing the floating platform, many thronged the public places around the Marina Bay area such as the Esplanade Bridge, Merlion Park and One Fullerton to soak in the atmosphere and catch the live action of the performances.
Painting the town red.
Adorable babies and toddlers.
Kids having fun in the sun.
Photographers in action.
p/s: Anybody going to the Malaysia International Fireworks Competition? I wanna go too!

Hole In One
|
|
Had been busy taking photographs.
These were taken during the night before the Nanyang Technological University Muslim Society (NTUMS) conducted their NTUMS Freshmen Orientation Camp.
I was one of the volunteer photographers.
I felt bored.
Because the briefing was long.
So I took these shots through a hole in a chair.
More to come if the lazy bug does not bite me again...

Been a long time since I've uploaded any. Should start posting the photos that have been piling up in my collections.
Picture was taken at East Coast Park. One of the busiest parks in Singapore. Even our beloved President loves to jog here. But don't tell anybody about it yah.
